Why I built it
I created Vid2Sprite after running into the same frustration over and over: existing sprite generation tools either hide too much of the process or charge you for results you may not even like. They can be fast, but they often take creative control away at exactly the point where small decisions matter most.
What worked better for me was a more hands-on approach. I started recording my own animation videos against a green background, choosing the frames myself, and shaping the final motion the way I actually wanted it to read. That workflow gave me cleaner outcomes, better timing, and a lot more confidence in the final sprite sheet.
This tool became the combination of everything I needed to make that personal workflow feel easy, fast, and convenient instead of repetitive. My hope is that it helps someone else get to the result they want without fighting the tool along the way.
